Civil & Site Work

Concrete, paving, and site work

The work under and around the building: earthwork and building pads, footings and slabs, retaining walls, drainage, underground utilities, curbs, sidewalks, and paving. Our own crews do it, on commercial sites and under the custom homes we build.

Why it matters

The site work decides the rest of the job

Central Texas sites swing from limestone and steep grade changes west of I-35 to expansive clay to the east. Getting the pad, the footings, the drainage, and the walls right is what keeps slabs flat and walls standing. Because we are a builder as well as a concrete and civil contractor, we plan site work around the building that goes on it.

What we self-perform: demolition and clearing, mass excavation, fill and compaction, building pads, footings and grade beams, slabs, cast-in-place and block retaining walls, drainage, underground utilities, curbs, sidewalks, flatwork, and paving.

“We are so happy with how our guest house turned out! From start to finish, they were wonderful to work with and really put care into every detail. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and it truly shows in their work. Everything turned out even better than we imagined, and we couldn’t be more grateful. We absolutely love our guest house and would recommend them to anyone looking for good, high-quality work from people who genuinely care about what they do.”

Questions

Common questions

Do you do commercial site work in Austin?

Yes. We've built site walls, a retaining wall, drainage, sidewalks, curbs, asphalt paving, and fire-lane striping on Avenue N, the site concrete for Andy's Frozen Custard in Round Rock, and all the concrete on a Cedar Park storage facility.

Can you repair a failing retaining wall?

Yes. We have demolished and rebuilt failing walls at the Oltorf apartments in Austin, and repaired a collapsed wall under an occupied apartment building by shoring it, stabilizing the slab with flowable fill, and building a new concrete wall.

Do you do the site work on custom homes too?

Yes. On hillside and sloped lots our crews handle the excavation, stepped foundations, cast-in-place retaining walls, and slabs, so the hardest part of the build stays under our control. See our custom home building page.

How do you price site work?

We walk the site, review the civil and structural drawings, and send an itemized fixed bid with every scope line listed and one lump-sum total. We don't publish unit prices or ranges; the bid is built from your site and drawings.

Do you build public projects?

Yes. We built the City of Buda skate park: a concrete bowl, banks, ledges, a stair set, rails, and planters.
